Nasce a Rho (Milano) nel 1949. Studia presso l’Istituto d’Arte del Castello Sforzesco.
Il suo linguaggio scultoreo ha derivazioni impressionistiche; si caratterizza, infatti, per un’approfondita ricerca degli effetti della
luce sulla superficie, anche attraverso l’utilizzo della fotografia, strumento che consente all’artista un’indagine ottica più precisa.

Partecipa a numerose rassegne artistiche locali e regionali. La sua personalità schiva e riservata lo ha tenuto lontano dagli eventi
mondani spesso legati al mondo dell’arte, una condizione umana riscontrabile anche nel rapporto con la scultura e anche con tutto ciò
che orbita intorno ad essa: come lo stretto legame che unisce lo scultore con l’ambiente artistico nato intorno alla fonderia d’arte Cubro
di Novate Milanese.

Mario Nava was born in 1949 at Rho and studied at the Castello Sforzesco Istituto d’Arte.
His sculptural language has its roots in impressionism; it is characterised by a profound study of the effects of light on surface, to which end he also used photography, a medium that allows the artist more precise research into optics. The critic Antonio De Bono wrote that the dynamism of the modelling of his bronzes is softened by a fascinating expressive power, making his completed works stand out for their composed hieratic sensibility.
Nava has taken part in many local and regional art shows. His reserved and retiring personality kept him far from the society events often associated with the art world. He did, however, form strong ties with the artistic world that grew up around the Cubro foundry at Novate Milanese.
His works are in both public and private collections.
